KALAHEO — Jeff Venzon, one of the referees for the county’s 14-and-under boys basketball league said everything will come down to the wire today at Kaua’i High School.
The Lihu’e Bloodline will open the final day of play that was extended due to the number of rained out games caused by the recent rains. Bloodline will go up against Gee Unit A who come off a 61-38 showing over South-side Wednesday night. That game is scheduled to tip off at 9 a.m. Laukona will match up with Papalina starting at 10 a.m. followed by the highly-anticipated Enforcers against C-Town at 11 a.m. The season will close with Southside going up against Wailua at 12 noon.
Kekoa Prem finished with a game-high 28 points with Justin Ramos adding 15 points in the Unit A’s 61-38 showing over Southside Wednesday night.
Earlier Wednesday evening, Keane-Shane Agoot led Eastside with a dozen markers in their 35-23 win over Papalina. Micah Rita finished with nine points, and Keanu Palama added seven to lead the Papalina effort.
The Westside Hornets’ game was forfeited when the Hornets did not have the required number of players to start the game against C-Town. C-Town had just come off a 46-21 win over Gee Unit B on Monday night with Jeremy Acantilado leading the charge with a game-high 12 points and Gage Gusman adding 10 points.
Joe Duronslet paced the Unit B effort with 10 points followed by Donovan Harrison adding six.
Cameron Largusa finished with 13 points to lead Laukona to a 33-30 edge over East-side with Paleku Yasay adding six. Cram took the lead for Eastside with 11 points followed by BJ Melchor adding seven. Prem led the Gee Unit A to a 40-17 showing over Papalina in the Monday finale. Prem chalked up nine points in the win followed by Skyler Schone adding six.
Anthony Irek led the Papalina effort with nine points, Isaac Tehero and Cory McDown each finished with three, and Palama added a pair for Papalina.
Kaleo Cummings paced Lihu’e Bloodline with a dozen points in their 59-31 win over the Gee Unit B in the only game played last Saturday.
