David Boynton
David Spalding Boynton died at Miloli‘i, Koke‘e, on Feb. 10, 2007, at the age of 61.
Born Aug. 30, 1945, in Honolulu, he was the Kaua‘i District Environmental Education resource teacher with the Department of Education.
He is survived by his wife Susan Marie Boynton of Kilauea; son Dylan Kalalau Ives Boynton of Albuquerque, N.M.; step-daughters Summer Marie Lawton of Hawai‘i Kai, O‘ahu, and Sonya Ginny-Ann Wolfe of Kilauea; mother Elizabeth Spalding Boynton of Honolulu; brother Peter Starbird Boynton of Kailua-Kona; sister Elizabeth Boynton Hoxie of Haiku, Maui; and two step-granddaughters, grand-nephews and nieces.
Memorial service to be held on Sunday, Feb. 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Koke‘e Meadow.
Donations to help establish a scholarship fund in his memory can be made to: Koke‘e Discovery Center Association Inc., 3060 Eiwa Street, Lihu‘e, HI 96766.
The family suggests casual and warm attire and that people bring umbrellas.
Ululani Rapozo
Ululani “Ulu” “Lani” Rose Rapozo of Anahola died on Feb. 12, 2007, at the age of 62.
Born in Honolulu on April 8, 1944, she was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph; mother Elizabeth Kaopua; sons Herman Kaopua and Joseph (Christina) Rapozo; daughters Dawn (Mario) Hendricksen, Denise (Gino) Davila, Josette (Mark) Hansford and Jo-Ann (Bryan) Kau; 16 grandchildren; brothers David “Boy” Sherwood, Dennis Kaopua, Sherwood “Biggie” Kaopua, Sherman “Peewee” Kaopua and Hamilton Kaopua; sister Edwina Mahelona; and numerous aunties, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Services over her cremains will be held on Saturday, Feb. 24, at 3 p.m. at the Anahola Hawaiian Homes Club, Anahola Hawaiian Homes on Kawelo Street, with a celebration of her life to follow.
The family gratefully declines flowers.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Rapozo family with the arrangements.
Tomeichi Takasugi
Tomeichi Takasugi of Waipahu, O‘ahu, died Feb. 18, 2007, at St. Francis Hospice West, at the age of 85.
Born Oct. 30, 1921, on Kaua‘i, he was a retired carpenter.
He is survived by nephews and nieces. Private services will be held on Kaua‘i.
Arrangements are being handled by Hosoi Garden Mortuary.
Alfred Peralta
Alfred Castillo Peralta of Honolulu died Jan. 17, 2007, at Hawaii Medical Center East, at the age of 85.
Born March 27, 1921, in Pangasinan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines, he was a retired housekeeper with the Ilikai Hotel.
He is survived by his wife Dolores “Bebang” Peralta; sons Ernest (Elizabeth) Peralta Jr., Jose (Norma) Peralta, Peter (Kelly) Peralta, Nelson (Fely) Peralta and Oscar (Carrie) Sagucio; daughters Delphine Shea, Adelina (Greg) Enriquez and Aurora (Edwin) Raposas; 20 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister Mercedes Peralta Dela Cruz.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 23, at Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary; services at 7 p.m. Visitation will take place again on Saturday, Feb. 24, at Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Valley of The Temples Memorial Park at noon.

Dr. Henry Goldstein
Dr. Henry (Hank) A. Goldstein, born in Chicago in 1939, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, at his home at the Kauai Waterfall Bed and Breakfast.
After retiring from his medical practice at Diversey Medical Clinic in Chicago, Hank moved to Kaua‘i in September 1996, where he was able to make his long-time dream of running a bed-and-breakfast guest house come true.
Hank had a great love for theater, even traveling as far as London to see 11 plays in five days. His passion for collecting art could be seen in every room of his home. As a B&B owner, he is remembered for the warmth and hospitality he provided for his guests.
He will be returned to Chicago and buried in the family plot next to his parents in Rosemont Park Cemetery, 6758 W. Addison. Services are scheduled for Thursday or Friday. Rabbi Larry Edwards of Congregation Or Chadash will be officiating.
He is survived by his brother Ray Goldstein of New Zealand, and many first-, second- and third-cousins. Also remembering him are his aunts, Marion Shanok of Voorhess, N.J., and Eunice Mermelstein of Memphis, Tenn.; nephew Jason (Vicki) Goldstein and his children; nieces Rachel (David) Richards and her children,; and Lina Goldstein.

Marie Lorraine Rapozo
Marie Lorraine Rapozo died Feb 18, 2007, in Grand Terrace, Calif., at the age of 91. She was born Dec. 10, 1915, in Kapa‘a.
Preceded in death by her husband Albert “Babs” Rapozo, she is survived by daughter Dorcy; grandchildren Robert Lowrey and Patti Felter of Grand Terrace; Brian Felter of Tumwater, Wash., Chandelle Felter of Grand Terrace, Norman Lowrey of Las Vegas, Nev.; sisters-in-law Virginia Souza and Gertrude Rodrigues, both of Kapa‘a.
