David Boynton
David Spalding Boynton died at Miloli‘i, Koke‘e, on Feb. 10, 2007, at the age of 61.
Born Aug. 30, 1945, in Honolulu, he was the Kaua‘i District Environmental Education resource teacher with the Department of Education.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Marie Boynton, of Kilauea; son Dylan Kalalau Ives Boynton of Albuquerque, N.M.,; step-daughters Summer Marie Lawton of Hawai‘i Kai, O‘ahu, and Sonya Ginny-Ann Wolfe of Kilauea; mother Elizabeth Spalding Boynton of Honolulu; brother Peter Starbird Boynton of Kailua-Kona; sister Elizabeth Boynton Hoxie of Haiku, Maui; two step-granddaughters, grandnephews and nieces.
Memorial service to be held on Sunday, Feb. 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Koke‘e Meadow.
Donations to help establish a scholarship fund in his memory can be made to: Koke‘e Discovery Center Association Inc., 3060 Eiwa Street, Lihu‘e HI 96766.
The family suggests casual and warm attire and that people bring an umbrella.
Ululani Rapozo
Ululani “Ulu” “Lani” Rose Rapozo of Anahola died on Feb. 12, 2007, at the age of 62.
Born in Honolulu on April 8, 1944, she was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph; mother Elizabeth Kaopua; sons Herman Kaopua and Joseph (Christina) Rapozo; daughters Dawn (Mario) Hendricksen, Denise (Gino) Davila, Josette (Mark) Hansford and Jo-Ann (Bryan) Kau; 16 grandchildren; brothers David “Boy” Sherwood, Dennis Kaopua, Sherwood “Biggie” Kaopua, Sherman “Peewee” Kaopua and Hamilton Kaopua; sister Edwina Mahelona; and numerous aunties, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Services over her cremains will be held on Saturday, Feb. 24, at 3 p.m. at the Anahola Hawaiian Homes Club, Anahola Hawaiian Homes on Kawelo Street, with a celebration of her life to follow.
The family gratefully declines flowers.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Rapozo family with the arrangements.
Demetrio Agustin
Demetrio Lopez Agustin of Puhi died at his home on Feb. 20, 2007, at the age of 81.
Born Feb. 21, 1925, in Lihu‘e, he was a journeyman painter with Grove Farm Company.
Preceded in death by his parents, Timoteo and Euphrasia Agustin, he is survived by his wife, Dorothea Suan Agustin; daughter Jo Ann (Alan) Ellis; son Dean (Candace) Agustin; grandchildren Alyssa Ellis, Lauren Agustin and Dayna Agustin; brothers Tino (Deling) Agustin and Pat (Jo) Agustin; sister Rose (Matias) Arizo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at Immaculate Conception Chuirch, where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. by Father Bill. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
