The Snyder/Miranda duo clocked in at 35.18, a strong finish over second finisher Summer Malina and Joyce Miranda who stopped the clock at 58.87.
Third in that event went to the pair of Kelli Carveiro and Julie Akita who tripped the clock at 86.48 and Snyder copped fourth place with Corrina Schumacher on a 16.48 run on one go.
That performance, coupled with two second place finishes, earned Snyder All Around Cowgirl honors at the Kaua‘i All Girl Rodeo Association event Sunday at the CJM Country Stables in Po‘ipu.
Working under winds whipping up the dust at 15-20 mph, Kristyn Vasconcelles netted the Reserve All Around Cowgirl honors.
Vasconcelles was tops in the Steer Undecorating event with a 4.07 go followed by Akita who stopped the clock at 4.53. Third place honors went to Snyder who stripped the flag in 5.89 and Laureen Naumu-Balocan settled at fourth on a 6.93 go.
Vasconcelles finished third in the 3D Barrels event with an 18.224 go in the First Division and settled for fifth place in the Breakaway Roping event with a 3.76 on one go.
Britni Braun was nervous about being the first of about 40 riders out of the gate in the 3D Barrels.
But the young rider’s 17.63 withstood all challenges to take top honors, Snyder breathing down her neck at 17.974 and Vasconcelles challenging at 18.224. Fourth place in the event went to Wendy Tannery (18.473) and Kelli Carveiro (18.576).
Janine Hashitate topped the 3D Barrels, Second Division on a 19.212 go with Akita strong in second at 19.359. Tannery’s second steed netted her third at 19.393 with Carol Ayala rounding out the leaders at 19.571.
Rhonda Kaui was smooth in her ride, cheered on by a good-sized rodeo-appreciating audience, netting top honors in the 3D Barrels, Third Division with a 20.675 go. Sherri Carveiro, smartly garbed in black and pink, filled in second at 20.90 with Hoolai Ludington-Braun (21.033) and Michelle Ientile (21.724) rounding out the Division 3 leaders.
Tannery, who was scheduled to be on a plane to the Mainland for spring break Monday, was able to focus enough to capture top honors in the First Division of 3D Pole Bending with a 21.748 go. Snyder filled in second at 22.826.
Taylor Ludington topped the Second Division with a 24.016 challenged by Penny Miranda’s 24.151 go for second place. McKenzie Javelosa filled in third at 24.378 and Tannery’s second steed netted her fourth at 24.578.
April Soares topped the Third Division with a 25.873 go followed by Tara Fernandez clocking in at 25.929. Nancy McMahon (25.964) and Naumu-Balocan (26.193) rounded out the Third Division leaders.
Shelcee Ludington controlled the Breakaway Roping event on a 12.38 go with Haley Miranda filling in second at 17.04. Summer Malina (21.84), Coralyn Murayama (26.65) and Vasconcelles (3.76/1) rounded out that event’s leaders.
The next KAGRA event is scheduled for Apr. 15 at the CJM Country Stables in Po‘ipu.
