Kaua‘i’s Eben Kaneshiro and Taurus Cabbab went down by technical knockout in their mixed martial arts matches Saturday at the fifth Garden Island Cage Match at the Hanapepe Stadium.
There were 13 bouts total, with Kaneshiro and Cabbab sharing top billing. Buck Bisbey of Seattle took Kaneshiro in the second round in 2:37. Mario Miranda, also from Seattle, took Cabbab down in the first in 4:07.
In other bouts, Kaimi Bernoy defeated John Rosario by rear naked choke in 45 seconds in one round.
The referee stopped the bout between Chuck Rapozo and Keoni Bigno in the second round, giving Rapozo the victory.
Hunter Seelbinder defeated Jason Aldridge by RNC in 2:42 in one round.
John Felix defeated Nestor Honarato by triangle choke in 1:18. Isaac Josiah beat defeated Marcus Moreno and Pauly Kawamura beat Julio Moreno by RNC.
Shane Kahananui took down Zack Rapal by arm bar in 1:50, Jamaiah Williamson won over Tesai Seamster and Keoni Bryant defeated Kaeo Lopez by knee bar in 25 seconds.
For the women’s matches, Lynn Alvarez defeated Sherri Ephan and Emma Bush beat Heather Eichens by a knockout in 1:26 in the second round.
