FRESNO, Calif. — The University of Hawai‘i Rainbow baseball game at Fresno State has been postponed to be played as part of doubleheader today starting at noon, Pacific time, at Pete Beiden Field.
The Rainbows (25-13, 6-4 WAC) and Bulldogs (21-19, 6-4) are tied for second in the Western Athletic Conference standings behind Louisiana Tech, who was also rained out at Sacramento State last night.
On Friday, for the opening of the series, the Rainbows defeated the Bulldogs 9-8.
Koloa’s Mark Rodrigues (7-2) picked up the victory. Kris Sanchez led the way for Hawai‘i offensively, going 2-for-4 with 3 RBI and a home run. Vinnie Catricala added a 3-for-5 game with a run while Jonathan Hee was 3-for-5 with 2 doubles, 1 RBI and 1 run.
Sanchez started off the Rainbow bats in the second inning, blasting a two-run home run to left-center, putting Hawai‘i ahead 2-0. That started a five-run inning in which Hawai‘i was aided by two Fresno State errors.
