Amber Duldulao and Lyle Nemeth were named as the 2006 Wescon Scholars by the Kaua‘i Pop Warner Association.
The Kaua‘i pair was announced at the Wescon Conference in Parker, Ariz., recently. Each player earned a $500 scholarship and a Certificate of Excellence.
Duldulao, the daughter of Balty and Perla Duldulao from ‘Ele‘ele, is in the eighth grade at Waimea Canyon School and has been a cheerleader for the Hanapepe Colts for the past two years.
Nemeth is the son of Vic and Lora Nemeth of Lihu‘e. He is in the eighth grade at Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School and has been a player with the Lihu‘e Patriots tackle football program for the past three years.
To be nominated for the Wescon Scholar award, the participant must be in the eighth grade or higher and have a GPA of 96 percent, or better. Additionally, they need to have been in the Pop Warner program for a minimum of two years.
