Lono Kwai Mun Fu
Lono Kwai Mun Fu of Anahola died March 28, 2007, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 85.
Born July 1921, in Hawai‘i, he was a retired police officer.
Preceded in death by son Lanning Joseph Fu, daughter Drucilla Louis, brother Harry “Kwai Wah” Fu and sisters Helen Hitchcock, Lillian Mundon and Emma Cummings, he is survived by his wife Frances Pavao Fu of Anahola; sons Landis (Ginny) Fu of New York, Vernon (Lynn) Fu of Koloa and Lance (Roni) Fu of Kilauea; daughters Lissa Fu of Kapa‘a, Lona Duque of California, Lani (Darrin) Gomes of Anahola, Lynn (Russell) Leong of Anahola and Leilani (Kip) Furugen of Kapa‘a; brother Charles K.C. Fu and Edwin “Ah Meng” (Linda) Fu; sisters Hattie Baptiste, Ellen “Ah Lan” (Thomas) Kaneakua and Anna “Oui” Pacheco; 33 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Abraham Mundon; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 7, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa where services will follow.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary.
Edward Hiramoto
Edward Hiramoto of Koloa died Feb. 4, 2007, at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 82.
Born Nov. 5, 1924, in Koloa, he worked for Hawaiian Airlines.
He is survived by his wife Sally Hiramoto, son Harold (Julie) Hiramoto, daughter Leah (Miki) Hiramoto, grandsons Aaron Fernandez, Matthew Hiramoto, and Micah Hiramoto, great-grandson Chaysen Fernandez; brothers Walter (Alice) Hiramoto and Roy (Shirley) Hiramoto; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services were held. Arrangements were handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Shigenori Ishibashi
Shigenori Ishibashi of Kalaheo died March 31, 2007, at his home at the age of 100.
Born Nov. 18, 1906, in Makaweli, he was a crane operator for McBryde Sugar.
He is survived by his wife Kinuko Ishibashi, sons George (Sueko) Ishibashi, Paul (Arlene) Ishibashi,, Robert (Carolyn) Ishibashi, daughters Ruth Nishiyama, Joyce (Glenn) Yokoyama; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Private services were held. Arrangements were handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Shanda Navarro
Shanda Faye Navarro of Kilauea died on March 30, 2007, at the age of 44.
Born in Seattle, Wash., on Aug. 14, 1962, she was a self-employed hairdresser and cosmetologist.
She is survived by her husband Patrick Navarro; son Kevin McGuire-Navarro; daughters Carmia Rios and Kandice Navarro, all of Kilauea; mother Margie Winston; sisters Laurie Seehorn, Michelle Rios, Tanya Hell, Evie Hell, and Tannee Hell, all of Seattle; brothers Doug Seehorn of Seattle and Greg Seehorn of California; and granddaughter Kalehua Yokotake.
Services will be held at a later date.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Frances Thomas
Frances Thomas of Kapa‘a died March 29, 2007, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 84.
Born Feb. 4, 1923, in Hawai‘i, she was a homemaker.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband Alexander Thomas, sister Cynthia Machado, and brother Manuel Soares, she is survived by brother Antone “Tony” Soares of Scottsdale, Ariz., and sister Helen B. Souza of Honolulu; children Stephen (Sheilah) Thomas, Dennis Thomas, Valerie Thomas and Jeffery (Norma) Thomas; grandchildren Nicole (Troy) Waialeale, Brandon Thomas, Dawn (Kenneth) Cummings, Cherisse Thomas, Brian Thomas, Christin (Juan) Abrego, Joseph (Cammy) Thomas, Kathleen (Ludt) Dakamas, Justin Thomas, Blake Moura and Megan Moura; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many loved ones who shared in her life.
Friends may visit with the family from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. on Monday, April 9, at Immaculate Conception Church where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. by Father Bill.
Burial to follow at Immaculate Conception Church Cemetery.
