John Lake III
John “Keoni” Keawe Lake III of Lihu‘e, died April 14, 2007, in Honolulu, at the age of 55.
Born Jan. 10, 1952, in Hawai‘i, he was a taxi driver.
He is survived by sons John Kalaea Lake and Travis Corrales; daughters Sanoe Lake Eaton, Stacy Dickson and Alana Lake; brother Doug Lake; sisters Mona Lake and Brigitte Kamai.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 26, at Kalapaki Beach Park. Gathering will be at 4 p.m. Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Ultimate Cremation Services of Hawai‘i.
Marie Annette Mundon
Marie Annette Mundon of Kapa‘a died at Wilcox Hospital on May 10, 2007, at the age of 66.
Born in Louisiana, she was a resident of Kaua‘i for 27 years and an insurance agent for Allstate in Lihu‘e.
She is survived by husband James P. Mundon; daughter Sheri (Charlie) Carveiro, son Jay Mundon and daughter Jamie Mundon; seven grandchildren: Brandon. Cody, Kelli, Cory, Kasey, Kaeo and Kaila; brother Jim Young and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins, preceded in death by her granddaughter Jayda.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, at Kapa‘a First Hawaiian Church, where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Manuel Castillo Sr.
Manuel Castillo Sr. of Kekaha died at Hilo Memorial Hospital on May 9, 2007, at the age of 94.
Born in Koloa on Nov. 3, 1912, he retired as a boiler operator with Kekaha Sugar Co.
He is survived by sons Manuel (Deborah) Castillo Jr. of Arizona, Michael (Barbara) Castillo of Kalaheo; brothers Maximo Castillo Jr. of Pearl City, William Castillo of California, David Castillo of Nevada; sisters Anne Javellana of Kapa‘a, Mary Sabrado of ‘Aiea, Frances Kim of Kane‘ohe, Lydia DeGrandis of Kane‘ohe; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, May 16, at Sacred Hearts Church in Waimea with visitation from 10 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Kekaha Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Helen Oliveira
Helen Agnes Oliveira of Lihu‘e died at Garden Isle Health Care on May 12, 2007, at the age of 82.
Born in Honolulu on Nov. 10, 1924, she retired with State of Hawai‘i Department of Education as an admissions clerk and substitute teacher at Kaua‘i Community College.
She is survived by daughters Bernice (Harold) Crowder of Oregon and Jo Ann Oliveira of Honolulu; son Stephen (Jeanne) Oliveira of New York; sister Jackie Alamida of Honolulu; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by children Sylvester Oliveira Jr. and Georgiana Warner; sisters Louise Hughes, Elizabeth Cooper and brother Anthony Alencastre.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, May 18, at Immaculate Conception Church with visitation from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m.

Michael Mitsukazu Miyake
Michael Mitsukazu Miyake of Los Angeles, Calif., died May 10, 2007, at home at the age of 89.
Born Oct.10, 1917, in Palama, Hawai‘i, he is survived by his wife Doris, daughter Lynne Miyake, sons Steven, Bryan, and Michael; brother Hiroshi Miyake, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Irene Sakamoto.
Services will be held on Tuesday, May 22, at 5:30 p.m., at the Honolulu Tensho Kotai Jingu-Kyo Dojo, 888 North King Street, in Honolulu, and a celebration of his life will be held for friends and family on Wednesday, May 23, at 2 p.m. at the Club 100 Clubhouse on 520 Kamoku Street, in Honolulu.
Casual attire and valet parking services will be provided. His burial will take place on Friday, May 25, at 11 a.m., at the Kauai Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Hanapepe on Kaua‘i.
