The 23rd annual Central Pacific Bank/The Arc of Kaua‘i Golf Tournament got off to a rousing start Monday.
Janie Whitehead, manager of the Kaua‘i Wal-Mart store, donated a 32-inch color TV set, which will be one of the prizes golfers at the annual golf tournament will be vying for on June 24.
Ellen Ching, director for the Arc of Kaua‘i, said applications for the tournament are currently being accepted. Funds generated from the tournament will be used to benefit children and adults with development disabilities, she said.
The golf tournament will take place at the Po‘ipu Bay Golf Course, the course where the PGA Grand Slam of Golf was played, with registration taking place from 7:30 a.m. A shotgun start at 8 a.m. will get things rolling.
Tournament format is a two-person scramble, best ball with 80 percent handicap.
Registration fee for each golfer is $95 and includes green fees, golf cart and lunch.
Ching said in addition to golfer registrations, corporate and hole sponsorships are available.
The color television set provided by Wal-Mart will be the grand prize for this year’s tournament.
