Clyde Shigematsu
Clyde Tamotsu Shigematsu of Lawa‘i died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on June 2, 2007, at the age of 55.
Born in Lihu‘e on March 5, 1952, he was a building contractor and owner of C. Shigematsu Construction Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Alison, beloved Keiko of Lawa‘i; mother Yoshiko Shigematsu; brother Ricky (Lori Cabebe) Shigematsu; sisters Karen (Miles) Tone, Wanda Corr and Lisa (Blaine) Dela Cruz; brothers-in-law Tracy (Marjorie) Hirano and Roy (Lisa Bupp) Hirano; sister-in-law Janice Ueoka (Garry) Kemp; uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the Garden Island Mortuary chapel; service officiated by Caroline Miura will begin at 4 p.m.
Casual or aloha attire is suggested and flowers omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Beatrice Narciso
Beatrice Veto Narciso of Lihu‘e died at home on June 30, 2007, at the age of 80.
Born in Kilauea on April 15, 1927, she was a teacher in the Philippines and on Kaua‘i, and retired from the Kauai Hilton.
She is survived by her husband, Sergio Narciso Sr., seven children, Ramon (Maria) Narciso of Lihu‘e, Diana (Brent) Goplen of Chicago, Regina (Ricardo) Igaya of Lihu‘e, Sergio (Liza) Narciso Jr. of Washington state, Fresco (Caroline) Narciso of Lihu‘e, Virginia (Martin) Vazquez of North Carolina, Pedro (Marirose) Narciso of Oregon; two brothers Larry (Danita) Vito of California and Jose (Erlinda) Vito of Hanama‘ulu; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church with visitation from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens. Family requests casual attire.

Hideyuki Nagai
Hideyuki Nagai of Hanama‘ulu and formerly of Captain Cook, Kona, died at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home on June 19, 2007, at the age of 83.
Born in Captain Cook, Kona, Hawai‘i, on June 25, 1923, he was a self-employed farmer. He was also a veteran with Company E, 442nd Infantry Regiment.
He is survived by his wife, Tamiko Nagai; son, Guy (Lorraine) Nagai of Wailua Houselots; daughter, Merilyn (Clyde) Oda of Kaneohe; two sisters, Margaret Ogawa of Hilo and Toyomi (Takashi) Nonaka of Papaikou; brother, Larry (Alice) Nagai of Waipahu; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held. The family requests no koden and graciously declines flowers.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Nagai family with arrangements.
John M. Gonsalves Jr.
John M. Gonsalves Jr. of ‘Oma‘o died July 1, 2007, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 75.
Born Aug. 2, 1931, on Kaua‘i, he was a retired tour bus driver.
He is survived by his wife, Nina “Dolly” Pascua; daughters, Ginger Gonsalves and Camille Gonsalves; brother, Joseph Gonsalves; sister, Margaret Hill; and nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Borthwick/Kaua‘i Mortuary Chapel in Koloa, where prayer services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwith Kauai Mortuary.
