Bernardo S. Garcia
Bernardo S. Garcia of Kekaha died July 2, 2007, at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 83.
Born Aug. 3, 1924, in Badoc Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a field-hand/laborer.
He is survived by his wife Josefina Garcia; sons Cresencio (Eliza) Garcia of Kilauea, Jessie (Evelyn) Garcia of Waimea, Joven (Ghene) Garcia of Las Vegas, Manuel (Marilyn) Garcia of Texas; daughters Gloria Garcia of Kekaha, Merilyn Garcia of Las Vegas, Mila (Rawlins) Char of Kekaha; 25 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, from noon to 1:45 p.m. at the Veterans Pavilion at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe, where services will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Inurnment to follow at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.

Mason Ngar Kit Chan of Lihu‘e died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on June 20, 2007, at the age of 22. Born in Honolulu, O‘ahu on Jan. 21, 1985, he was a painter.
He is survived by his companion Nicole Sagum; parents Dennis and Mari-Kuulei Chan; brother Christopher (Evie Joy) Chan; sisters Crystal (Mitchell Pinzon) Chan and Mia Kainoa Chan; paternal grandfather Edward Sek Kang Chan; maternal grandmother Mildred S.U. Pang; and uncles, aunts and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, at Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; service at 3:30 p.m. Cremation to follow. Casual attire is suggested.

John M. Gonsalves Jr. of ‘Oma‘o, died July 1, 2007, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 75.
Born Aug. 2, 1931, on Kaua‘i, he was a retired tour bus driver
He is survived by his wife: Nina “Dolly” Pascua; daughters Ginger Gonsalves and Camille Gonsalves; brother Joseph Gonsalves; sister Margaret Hill; and nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, July 11, from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Borthwick/Kaua‘i Mortuary Chapel in Koloa, where prayer services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwith Kauai Mortuary.
