• Debra Jason was elected vice president of the Kauai North Shore Business Council board of directors. Jason takes over the responsibilities from former Vice President Mike Stewart of Uncle Mikey’s Hawaiian Foods, who stepped down due to scheduling conflicts.
“Debra has been an active board member, representing small business, for several years,” board Secretary Mamo Cummings Graham said.
Jason joined the council in 2002 and was elected to its board of directors in 2003.
She is the owner of The Write Direction, a company specializing in writing Web and direct marketing communications, in business since 1989. In addition, she is a successful Realtor Associate with Vision Realty’s Hanalei office.
• Kahau Manzo was named executive chef of The Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas by Starwood Vacation Ownership. Manzo leads all culinary operations at the resort and has created an exceptional dining experience for guests at Nanea, the property’s signature restaurant.
Manzo joined the Starwood family in 2004 as executive sous chef for the Westin resort Moana Surfrider and the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani on O‘ahu.
His previous culinary experience includes positions as restaurant chef for the Rainbow Lanai at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, sous chef at the Grand Wailea Resort on Maui and restaurant chef at the Four Seasons Wailea on Maui.
