KALAHEO — Kalepa Hillsiders finished with three players in double-digit as the yellowshirts redeemed themselves, 56-47 over the Gee Unit, Tuesday night.
That was one of three games played in the 3 G’s Nation 18 and Under league which resumed play following the weekend’s Kaua‘i Youth Basketball Association tournament.
Jayme Jacinto and Bristy-Ann Agu each finished with 6 points to lead Waimea to a 31-24 showing over Kaulupono Girls in the night’s opener, and Jeremy Robinson poured in 24 points to lead Kalaheo to a 67-43 win over the Westside in the nightcap.
Earlier in the 3 G’s Nation 18 and Under season, Kalepa suffered its only loss of the season to the Gee Unit, and Tuesday night, Kalepa answered that loss at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
Travis Stine paced the Hillsiders with a game-high 19 points with Kila Youn and John Berales adding 17 and 14 points, respectively.
Preston Keough played step-up and finished with 6 points as a guard.
Devone Florence finished with 17 points and Basil Walton added 13 points to lead the Gee Unit. Tino Ramos ended with 9 points with Winston Gee and Joe Duronslet, one of the KYBA tournament’s MVPs, each netting 4 points.
Lorrine Victorino added 5 points for Waimea with Breeann Abuan and Erin Connelly each chipping in 4 points.
Janessa Grady, recently named to an all-tournament team spot at a Maui tournament, paced the Kaulupono effort with 8 points followed by Kayla Werner muscling for 6 points.
The 3 G’s Nation will open its 13 and Under boys and girls season Saturday with five teams in the boys division and four teams in the girls division.
