KEKAHA — Department of Land and Natural Resources enforcement officers will conduct live-fire range exercises between 8 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. on Friday at the Hawai‘i Army National Guard Firing Range in Kekaha.
DLNR Chairwoman Laura Thielen said the exercises are conducted as part of DLNR’s normal enforcement staff training.
Orange cones will be posted parallel to both sides of the range and a red flag will be raised from the highest point on the range.
Although normal live-fire precautions will be enforced, the public is asked to avoid the area on the exercise dates.
Kekaha firing range is located approximately one mile west of the ‘Akialoa Road and Kaumuali‘i Highway intersection.
The range is reserved for use by state law enforcement agencies and the Garden Island Pistol Club. It is maintained by the state National Guard.
