Mililani A 5, Windward 2 – HANAPEPE — Mililani’s A team remained undefeated on the second day of pool play, yesterday, in the Pony Baseball Bronco State tournament in Hanapepe.
In the afternoon game, Mililani A (3-0) defeated Windward (0-3) 5-2, to receive the top-seed in the White Pool.
Sean Milan had three RBIs, J.C. DeJesus finished 2-for-3, Jimmy Madrid finished 2-for-2 with two doubles and Trent Sitar went 2-for-3. Cody Acadamia got the win.
For Windward, Wyatt D’Alessio scored off a double from Kainoa Harrison and Robb Risso scored off a single by Dane Kamalu.
Mililani starts the double elimination playoff, today, against No. 2 West Kaua‘i Indians (2-1).
‘Aiea 10, Lihu‘e 2
‘Aiea’s all stars earned their No. 1 status in the Green Pool with its 10-2 win over Lihu‘e yesterday.
‘Aiea (3-0) will play No. 2 Maui (2-1) at 10 a.m.

West Kaua‘i 25, Mililani B 6
West Kaua‘i scored 10 runs in the fifth inning before Mililani B got one out on them, Mililani B went through four pitchers then, and West Kaua‘i sealed its No. 2 spot in the playoffs with a 25-6 win, yesterday.
The two teams were neck-and-neck throughout the whole game with, until West Kaua‘i’s explosive fifth.
West Kaua‘i was down 6-5 after three innings, the at the top of the fourth, Kamalei Compoc-Butoc hit the second of his three triple, driving in Keanu Malama and Acetyn Emayo to take the lead at 7-5. The Indians got five more runs from Compoc-Butoc, Kaela Lanning, Nick Salas, Maikah Wisneski and Brock Ephan.
West Kaua‘i went through its batting lineup twice and got hit from the reserves Rylan Nakaahiki-Torres (single), Deven Vidinha-Lazaro (two RBI double) and Jacelyn Sabala-Rapanot (two RBI double).
Compoc-Butoc finished 3-for-5 with three triples, a walk and an RBI. Ephan finished 4-for-5 with a double and two RBIs. Emayo finished 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI.
Kona 7, Windward 3
Kona started the morning on a high note, defeating Windward 7-3.
Gustafson, who led off the game with a triple to get the momentum going for Kona, finished 3-for-4 and two RBIs and John Kamoku hit a two-run homer.
Maui 13, Kona 8, 8 innings
Maui earned the No. 2 seed in today’s playoffs after defeating Kona 13-8 in eighth innings, yesterday.
Kona was up 8-4 heading into the fifth inning and Maui started to level off, getting a run in the fifth and scoring three in the seven to tie and force the eigth inning.
Issac Burrows finished 4-for-5, Slayde Omura went 3-for-5 with two triples and Chazz Ishikawa went 3-for-4.
‘Aiea 10, Mililani B 0
‘Aiea shut out Mililani in its early morning game.
Jacob White finished 3-for-3 with a triple, Brent Sakai went 2-for-4 and Matt Weidenbach finished 2-for-3 with a triple.
• The playoffs continue with the winners of the morning games advancing to the afternoon games. The losers of the morning games will play each other and the winners of both afternoon games move on to the final at 1 p.m on Monday.
The champion goes on to compete in the Zone Tournament from July 31 to August 3, in Valencia, Calif.
