Michiyuki “Midi” Uchida of Lihu‘e died April 28, 2009, at Regency at Puakea at age 92. Born May 20, 1916, in Lihu‘e, he was a retired police officer with the Kauai Police Department.
He was preceded in death by father Sutetaro Uchida, daughter Dee Ann Eiko Uchida and sister Mutsuko Uchida.
He is survived by sons Alvin (Susan) Uchida of Lihu‘e, Barry (Cheryl) Uchida of Lake Oswego, Ore.; two grandchildren; brothers Philip Uchida of Honolulu and Masa Oda of Wailua Houselots; sister Lillian Kasumi of Honolulu; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at a later date.
