James Thompson
James D. Thompson of ‘Oma‘o died April 29, 2009, at home at age 61. Born Oct. 20, 1947, in Mechanicsburg, Pa., he was a retired high school math teacher with Waimea High School.
He was preceded in death by father Dick W. Thompson and brother Richard Scott Thompson.
He is survived by mother Charlotte Confer of Kilauea; sisters Suzanne (Paul) Pond of Kilauea and Margaret Ann Thompson of Kilauea; nieces Alexandra Pond and Kieren Pond, both of Kilauea; numerous cousins; and caregiver and cousin Stephanie Parrott of Pennsylvania.

Janet Kiyoko Taba of Honolulu died April 8, 2009, at the Aloha Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at age 87. Born May 16, 1921, in Honolulu she was an employee for Ed & Don’s.
She is survived by son Gregory Taba of Honolulu; daughter Emi Tanihiro of Kapa‘a; brother Shigeo Wauke of Honolulu; sisters Hiroko Shimabukuro of Honolulu, Chiyoko Yoza of Honolulu, Edith Mihalco of California, Doris Wauke of Honolulu and Marion Wauke of Honolulu.
