Robert Tamaribuchi
Robert S. Tamaribuchi of Honolulu died Oct. 12, 2009, at age 83. Born in Waimea, Kaua‘i, he was a retired mechanical engineer and consultant.
He is survived by his sons Donn (Rae) Tamaribuchi and Paul (Gail) Tamaribuchi; daughter Susan Sakamoto; six grandchildren; brothers Kinney Tamaribuchi and Kay Tamaribuchi; sister Sue Ono.
Visitation from 5 to 6 p.m., service at 6 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 30, at Harris United Methodist Church. Private inurnment to be held at a later date. Casual attire is suggested and the family requests that flowers be omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Nu‘uanu Memorial Park and Mortuary.
Sadako Matsuoka
Sadako Takeuchi Matsuoka died Sept. 9, 2009, in Gardena, Calif., at age 93. She was born on Jan. 5, 1916, in Lihu‘e.
She is survived by her children, Helen (Tad) Kuroda, Calvin (Ellie) Matsuoka, Judy (Bob) Okada and Eric (Phyllis) Matsuoka; grandchildren; great-grandchilren; brother Mamoru (Yoshiko) Takeuchi; sisters Toneyo Choriki, Mutsue Amaki and Dorothy Tsuyako Clapper; family and friends.
A private memorial service will be held.
George Kahalekomo Jr.
George Kahalekomo Jr. of Makaweli died Oct. 9, 2009, at his home at age 83. Born on April 5, 1926, in Waimea, he retired as a crane operator with Gay & Robinson Inc.
He was preceded in death by his wife Violet and son Wayne.
He is survived by his wife Malia of Lihu‘e; son George (Teal) Kahalekomo III of Waimanalo; daughter Valerie (Terry) Jackson of Georgia; sister Jennie Keuma of Waimea; brother Reuben Kahalekomo of Waianae; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation from 9 to 10:30 a.m., services at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Stake Center Lihu‘e. Burial to follow at 12:15 p.m. at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.
Aloha attire is suggested.

Dennis Marrotte Sr.
Dennis P. Marrotte Sr. of Anahola died Oct. 18, 2009, at his home at age 63. Born on Oct. 26, 1945, in O‘ahu, he was a retired heavy equipment operator with Hawaiian Bitumals.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Noelani Marrotte, parents Lawrence and Sarah Marrotte, sister Geraldine Marrotte-Hawk and brother George Marrotte.
He is survived by his wife Ilene Marrotte; stepmother Del Marrotte; sons Dennis (Kelly) Marrotte Jr., Roy (Tiffany) Marrotte, David Marrotte, Alika Marrotte, Kelii (Karla) Marrotte and Jason Marrotte; daughter Malialani Marrotte; brother Larry Marrotte; hanai brother Kumalae Matthews; sister Gwendolyn Marrotte; five grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation at 8 a.m., services at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Nov. 28, at Kapa‘a Church of Jesus Christ and Latter Day Saints. Visitation again at 9 a.m., services at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Dec. 5, at Mililani Mortuary Makai Chapel. Burial to follow at Mililani Cemetery.
The family requests no flowers be sent to Kaua‘i. Flowers are welcome at Mililani Chapel.

Lillian Desiree Christian of Kapa‘a died Oct. 16, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 82. Born on July 24, 1927, in Koloa, she was a restaurant manager for Kaua‘i Surf and Coco Palms.
She is survived by her brothers Akem (Rosalyn), Douglas “Boogie” (Marlene), Melvin (Emily) and Marvin Tung Loong; sisters Alice Kaneshiro and Charlotte (Ben) May; sons Darryl, Kaleo (Corliss) and Kaipo (Donna) Christian; grandchildren Keao, Deborah “Piilani” and Keola Christian; great-grandchildren Kaina, Jotis, Kyrus, Chloe and Pililani; numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial service at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Kapa‘a First Hawaiian Church with lunch to follow at the church hall. Casual attire is suggested and the family requests that flowers be omitted. Scattering of ashes will be at a later date.

Damen Gonsalves
Damen Donald Gonsalves of Lihu‘e died Oct. 22, 2009, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at age 72. Born on Nov. 20, 1936, in Lihu‘e, he retired from Lihu‘e Sugar Plantation as a herbicide supervisor.
He is survived by his wife Fanny; children Darlene (Jeff) Petrie of Oregon, Lisa (Joe) Kali of Kekaha, Dana Gonsalves of Wailua, Ronald (Stephanie) Gonsalves of Las Vegas and Lilia (Charles) Lee of Lihu‘e; brothers, Ralph “Junie” (Veronica) Gonsalves of Lihu‘e, Clifford (Eleanor) Gonsalves of Hanama‘ulu, Thomas (Evelyn) Gonsalves of Kapaia; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation from 6 to 7:45 p.m., service at 8 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 29, at Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall. Cremation to follow.
Casual attire is suggested.
