David Walters
David E. Walters of Princeville died Oct. 17, 2009. Born on Nov. 23, 1943, in Iowa, he built Pahio Resorts into one of the largest resort enterprises on Kaua‘i.
He was preceded in death by his father Jerry.
He is survived by his wife Lucette; daughter Crystal; mother Edith; sister Betty (Roy); brothers Ron (Randall), Larry (Barbara) and Kirk (Loretta); numerous nieces and nephews.
Committal service at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Homestead Cemetery in Aberdeen, Idaho. Memorial service at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in American Falls, Idaho. Memorials can be made in David’s honor to the Wheelchair Foundation, care of Larry Walters, 2380 Fairview Rd., American Falls, ID 83211.
Memorial service on Kaua‘i will be announced at a later date.
Dorothy Texeira
Dorothy Texeira of Puhi died Oct. 19, 2009, at her residence at age 86. Born on Sept. 5, 1923, in Lihu‘e, she was a retired janitor with Grove Farm.
She was preceded in death by her husband David Texeira, son Robert “Bobby” Texeira, daughter Geraldine Girald; son-in-law Herman Bacle.
She is survived by her son David “Kimo” (Flo) Texeira of Puhi; daughters Donna Texeira and Shanlyne (Eddie) Resinto both of Puhi; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation from 8 to 10 a.m., service at 10 a.m., on Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Burial at the church cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary Ltd.
