HANAMA‘ULU — Due to windy conditions, four families in Hanama‘ulu were alerted of a possible evacuation Saturday morning when a brushfire burned near their homes, a county press release states.
The fire broke out at around 10:17 a.m. in a field between King’s Chapel and Laukona Street, approximately 50 to 75 feet away from the homes.
Ten firefighters, four rescue specialists, a battalion chief, and police responded to the fire.
At around 10:35 a.m., the fire was deemed under control and fully extinguished at around noon.
As a result of the quick response by fire fighters, only one acre of brush burned in the fire and no one was injured, the release states.
The cause of the fire has been classified as undetermined.
