Join Halele‘a Gallery from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday for “An Evening with Adrienne,” a viewing of current works by New York artist Adrienne Mierzwa, according to a press release. The evening art night is in conjunction with Kukui‘ula Village’s Art Walk, which is held the third Thursday of each month.
Shops and galleries at Kukui‘ula Village will stay open late to host art demonstrations, wine tastings and live Hawaiian Music.
“For this art night, Halele‘a is welcoming artist Adrienne back from New York to showcase some new works,” the press release states. “We will have some ‘wet paint’ pieces that Adrienne will be bringing specially for the evenings events.”
About the artist
Adrienne Mierzwa was born and raised in New York City. She studied painting and illustration throughout her education and attended the High School of Art and Design, Parsons School of Design and the National Academy of Design and Instituto Allende in Mexico.
On her trips to Kaua‘i, you can find Mierzwa plain-air painting at the Hanalei lookout. While painting Kaua‘i scenery, her goal is “to distill my feelings about a particular subject into a picture that will convey them to the painting’s viewer. and hopefully evoke the same feelings, while exploring the use of color and composition. I love the process of putting paint on canvas and the beautiful effects it can create.”
