PO‘IPU — Every third Sunday of the month, the National Tropical Botanical Garden hosts a free ‘Ohana Day event at its world-famous garden on Kaua‘i.
On March 18, it’s “A Day of Kalo” from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Southshore Visitors Center (across from the Spouting Horn) at 4425 Lawai Rd. in Po‘ipu. In celebration of Prince Kuhio Week, Mele Brewer will share the history, culture and uses of the Hawaiian kalo (taro) plant.
There’s a hula performance, too, by Ka Wai Lani Malie.
