Danny Alayvilla
Danny Valmoja Alayvilla of Lihu‘e died at Straub Clinic and Hospital on April 6, 2012, at the age of 49. He was born on Feb. 3, 1963. He retired from the County of Kaua‘i and was the entrepreneur of Danny’s Concrete Pumping & Bobcat Service.
He is survived by his daughter, Danielle Alayvilla; son, Micah Alayvilla; parents, Ernesto and Veronica Alayvilla; three sisters, Regina (Cris) Alayvilla-Schenck from California, Fely (Roger) Akama, Mila (Kyle Cremer) Alayvilla; two brothers, Alfonso (Belinda) Alayvilla from California and Eddie Alayvilla; one granddaughter, Autumn Alayvilla; friend, Susan Kashiwabara and children, Tyler and Sarah; and numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 28, at St. Raphael’s Church in Koloa with viewing from 8 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 12 p.m. Burial will be held at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Alayvilla family with arrangements.
Olpiano Taguiped
Olpiano “Larry” Taguiped, 78, of Lahaina, passed away on March 9, 2012, at his residence.
He was born July 25, 1933, in Lahaina. He was a former electrician for Honeywell and a Class of 1951 Lahainaluna graduate.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther Ramiscal Taguiped.
He is survived by his son, Bradley Taguiped; daughter, Ruth (Victoria) Camargo; and siblings, Kerminar Taguiped, Mariano Taguiped and Betty Yokoi.
Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lihu‘e, Kaua‘i.
Memorial services will begin at 10 a.m. with urn burial to follow at 11 a.m. in the church cemetery.

Edwin Fu Sr.
Edwin Kwai Meng “Ah Meng” Kiilau Fu Sr. of Hanalei, Kaua‘i, passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on April 8, 2012, at the age of 84. He was born in Hanalei on December 10, 1927. He was a ranch foreman at Princeville Ranch (AMFAC).
He is preceded in death by parents, Lung Shak and Phoebe Fu; wife, Clara Fu; daughter, Charleen Kinney; sisters, Helen Hitchcock, Lillian Mundon, Emma Cummings; brothers, Harry and Lono Fu.
He is survived by sons, Wendall (Joanna) Fu, Kilauea and Edwin (Aleta) Fu, Jr., Kapa‘a; daughters, Edleen Kaui, Kapa‘a, Claradeen Fu, Hanalei, Helena Giltner, Wailua, Marleen (Iiams) Fu, Hanalei; companion, Linda Yadao, Kilauea; brother, Charlie Fu Sr.,Hanapepe; sisters, Hattie Baptiste, Florida, Ah Oui Pacheco, Oahu, Ah Lan (Naha), Kaneakua, O‘ahu, 22 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, April 21, at the old Hanalei Canoe Clubhouse at 10:30 a.m. Casual attire is suggested.
