Kaua‘i County Council member Kipukai Kuali‘i, Wilfred ‘Willy’ Kuali‘i and Sandra Kuali‘i are among the many people welcoming home Kumu Hula Leina‘ala Pavao Jardin and Halau Ka Lei Mokihana O Leina‘ala on Monday, April 8, 2024 at Lihu‘e Airport. Willy, as his son Kipukai said he likes to be called, served as the announced inspiration for Kumu and the halau’s “Kipukai” presentation during the Group Hula ‘Auana competition at the Merrie Monarch Festival. Willy was the head paniolo for John ‘Jack’ Waterhouse at Kipu, and the halau earned second place for its presentation.

Waimea 10th grade students were invited to the county’s Career Day offering on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, and the Menehune health academy students will be participating on Friday, April 12, 2024, when the Wilcox Health hosts its career day for high school students.
