LIHU‘E — A number of road-related projects are on tap in the days ahead with work taking place from Hanapepe to Princeville, the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation said in a weekly update on Friday.
The following is a list of scheduled projects for the workweek ending April 12. All work is weather permitting.
Anahola
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for grass cutting, between mile post 15.5 to 18, in the vicinity of Papaa Road, on Monday, April 8, through Friday, April 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
‘Ele‘ele
A single lane closure on Halewili Road (Route 540) is possible in either direction for construction of fire breaks, between mile post 3 and 3.8, in the vicinity of Kaumuali‘i Highway and Quarry Drive, on Monday, April 8, through Friday, April. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Hanapepe
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for shoulder grading, between Lele Road and Kaumakani Road, on Monday, April 8, through Friday, April 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Kealia
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for cold planing and paving, between Mailihuna Road and Aliomanu Road, through Friday, April 12, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Kekaha
A single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible near mile post 24.4 in the vicinity of Kikiaola Boat Harbor for road repair until further notice. Traffic will be alternated through the open lane.
Kipu
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for grass cutting, between Puuana Road and Maluhia Road, beginning Wednesday, April 10, through Friday, April 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Koke‘e
A single lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) is possible in either direction for road widening and paving, between mile post 11.5 and 14, through Friday, April. 12, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Lawai
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for tree trimming, between mile post 9.7 and 11.5, in the vicinity of Konishi Road and Silva Tract Road, beginning Monday, April 8, through Friday, April 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Lihu‘e
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for striping and sign installation, between Kuene Street and Kapule Highway, on Monday, April 8, through Friday, April 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Nawiliwili
A right lane closure on Rice Street (Route 51) is possible in the northbound direction for grass cutting, between Kalapaki Road and Mokoi Street, on Monday, April 8, and Tuesday, April 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Princeville
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible in either direction for debris removal and hauling of slope material, between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, from Monday, April 8, through Friday, April 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Traffic will be alternated through the open lane.
Wailua
A two lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in the northbound direction for cold planing and paving, between Kuamo‘o Road and Kapa‘a Bypass Road, on Monday, April 8, through Friday, April 12, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for sweeping roadway, bridges and roundabouts, between Fernandes Road and Ka Haku Road,on Monday, April 8, through Friday, April 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A right lane closure on Kapa‘a Bypass Road (Route 5600) is possible in either direction for grass cutting, between mile post 0 to 3, in the vicinity of Kuhio Highway, on Monday, April 8, through Friday, April 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A single lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) is possible in the vicinity of the Opaekaa Falls lookout until further notice for slope stabilization, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Two-way traffic is controlled by flaggers or temporary traffic signals.
