PUHI — Tickets for the opening show of John Guare’s “Six Degrees of Separation” presented by the Kaua‘i Community Players on Good Friday at the Puhi Theatrical Warehouse are sold out, according to the Kaua‘i Community Players’ website.
PUHI — Tickets for the opening show of John Guare’s “Six Degrees of Separation” presented by the Kaua‘i Community Players on Good Friday at the Puhi Theatrical Warehouse are sold out, according to the Kaua‘i Community Players’ website.
“Good Friday is our opening night,” said Georgialynn Degracia, who is the production’s assistant director and stage manager. “This is the last play for Isaac Worth — he portrays “Paul” — who will be moving away from Kaua‘i as soon as the run ends.”
However, people can attempt to get any tickets that are shaken loose by taking their chances and showing up at the door on performance night.
Tickets for the remaining show dates through April 14 are available online at www.kauaicommunityplayers.org.
Directed by Jason Blake, “Six Degrees of Separation” is the saga of the journey and drama of a young man who weaves a web of fascinating stories, drawing people together from all walks of life.
“‘Six Degrees of Separation’ was gob smacking for me — so smart, so quick, so funny, so racy, so poignant,” said Blake in his director’s notes. “The play and movie introduced the phrase and concept of ‘six degrees of separation’ into the mainstream. It is now such a part of our vernacular that we’ve had the party game of ‘Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon’ for at least 20 years.”
Mary Ellen Kopitzke, who handles the role of Quisa (Louisa) Kittredge in the play, said the presentation is 18-rated.
Curtain time is 7 p.m. during performances that take place on Thursdays through Saturdays. Sunday matinees are at 4 p.m.
“May tonight’s performance inspire you to take more chances and open yourself up to more experiences in your life,” said Rod Soderstrom, who performs the role of Geoffrey The Hustler.
