How many of you know when Santa Claus has his birthday?
Brenda Turville Biehler of Showtime Characters said her A-Plus kids made a video singing “Happy Birthday” to the red-suited icon of Christmas on Thursday after confirming via Google search that Santa’s birth date was on March 15, more than thousand years ago.
Kupuna Ihi Kaneali‘i (she was holding down the Kaua‘i Ocean Discovery fort while Jean Souza was setting up the inflatable Kamakai humpback whale) said she led the Prince Kuhio birthday tribute that was hosted by the Kaua‘i Museum last weekend), and is planning to participate when the Royal Order of Kamehameha hosts its annual protocol to honor the Prince’s birthday at Prince Kuhio Park.
Kudos to Melissa McFerrin Warrack of Kukui Grove on juggling all those Easter eggs to pull off the daylong festivities where the Chicken turned into the Easter Bunny, and finally, the Leprechaun for the Wonka movie … OK, now it’s back to the Easter Bunny (Easter is March 31!) for Toddler Tuesday on Tuesday starting at 11 a.m. near the food court stage.
Kamakai, the life-sized, anatomically-correct humpback whale opens to the public on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Jean Souza of the Kaua‘i Ocean Discovery said she’s still accepting reservations for classes and large group free tours. Email KOD.info@noaa.gov to schedule a day and time … the last time in 2019, Kamakai opened to a full house of spectators.
