When you’re hungry, it doesn’t matter which end of the bag is up on Sunday, March 10, 2024, as Kelvin Moniz, the executive director of the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank, accepts a bag of rice contribution from Olivia Bukoski of the Kaua‘i All Girl Rodeo Association during the food drive that was part of the KAGRA 25th anniversary season opener at the CJM Country Stables. Christy Castillo of the KAGRA leadership team said the Sunday food drive collected 446 pounds of food and the drive will continue until the April 21, 2024, rodeo.

Kaneiolouma Heiau volunteers Moe (pronounced moe, not mo) Auau and Nestor Gorospe prepare reinforcing braces for the four tiki on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the site of the ancient Hawaiian village. The tiki, a significant marker of the site, that were removed from their pedestals for hardening against the elements, will be reinstalled in the coming days.
