Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i Resort and Spa General Manager Michael Murphy was joined by the resort’s assistant manager leadership team and representatives of Kawailoa Development on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2024, when the Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i presented its $25,000 annual donation to Michael Contrades and Lynnette Medrano-Stine of the Kaua‘i United Way. Murphy said he is appreciative of the leadership team for embracing the support for Kaua‘i United Way. “They all worked very hard from selling Spam musubi and plate lunches to other events to make this effort possible,” Murphy said.

The jetty marker at Ahukini that one TGI reader said is “not straight” anymore was hammered by strong trade winds and high surf on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024.

Sonia and Eddie Topenio (they were doing their weekly farmers market shopping at Grove Farm Market on Saturday) said there were about 80 people, including Mark Perriello and a lot of professional people like Kaua‘i Community College Interim Chancellor Margaret Sanchez, who came to check out the county’s latest housing presentation on Thursday night at Kaua‘i Philippines Cultural Center.
