LIHU‘E — Visits to the Kaua‘i Urgent Care, located at 4484 Pahe‘e St, in Lihu‘e, just became easier to plan under a new self-scheduling system that allows patients to reserve a spot up to a day in advance.
Hawai‘i Pacific Health Wilcox Health announced on Wednesday that while walk-ins are still welcome at the Kaua‘i Urgent Care, the new system reserving a spot online can help patients plan ahead and is more convenient when they are not feeling well.
Under the new system, reserved times are approximate and wait times may vary from the reserved time.
The Kaua‘i Urgent Care clinic can treat most conditions and illnesses that are not life threatening, including COVID-19, colds, fever or flu, sprains and strains, cuts, scrapes and burns, eye, ear, sinus, skin or urinary tract infections, allergies, strep throat, sports-related injuries and minor broken bones.
Kaua‘i Urgent Care also offers various imaging and laboratory services on-site. The clinic is staffed with board-certified emergency medicine physicians and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“Offering online self-scheduling will make it easier and more convenient for both residents and visitors to access Kaua‘i Urgent Care,” said Jen Chahanovich, president and CEO of Wilcox Medical Center and CEO of Kaua‘i Medical Clinic.
The Kaua‘i Urgent Care self-scheduling portal can be accessed online at www.WilcoxHealth.org/UrgentCare.
Wilcox Health said urgent care clinics are ideal for situations when a patient’s primary care physician is unavailable.
Patients are reminded that an urgent care clinic is not the same as an emergency department that treats life-threatening illnesses and conditions, such as stroke, heart attack and severe injuries. The Wilcox Medical Center’s Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
