Laurie Ho, of the Kaua‘i County Farm Bureau, (food drive starts Monday at the Pau Hana Market) chaperones Dianne Richey of California (she’s Rep. Dee Morikawa’s sister), Alison Ah Puck of Kailua (both Laurie and Dianne haven’t seen her for eons) and Mac Rivel on Saturday during the Shop Small Saturday campaign at the Kukui Grove Center (Robbie Melton of the Small Business Development Center had to go check on the 40-plus vendors with Debbie Yanagihara at the Kaua‘i Veterans Center) on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023.

Nathan Myers, Gary (the Mayor of Kilauea) Pacheco and John Donatoni of the Kilauea Business Association (they’ve got the Kilauea Christmas Concert coming up on Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023, sit in the park across from the historic Kong Lung Marketplace) enjoy the pavilion during the opening of Johnny’s Market at the ‘Aina Ho‘okupu O Kilauea community agriculture park on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023.

What a marathon weekend of openings (congratulations to Sheldon and Kristyn Peralta of Bubbah’s Toy Box on being able to open the doors of Sissy’s Stationary and Stuff that had a line waiting on Saturday morning) … Sheldon said they’ve got more stuff coming so make sure to stop by. Congratulations to Yoshi and the Kilauea Ag Park ‘ohana on the opening of Johnny’s Market where Kamehameha VII (he said he legally changed his name) and the first Queen Kamehameha mingled among the throngs of people enjoying each other’s company) … great way to spend Small Business Saturday.
