The Rev. Mary Margaret Smith, Deacon of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, said the craft fair on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023, was a ‘small kine’ introduction to the church’s 60th Anniversary Celebration, E Ho‘olaule‘a Kakou, that was celebrated on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2023, with special guests and music.

Aileia Cassler, Maya Domingsel and Avery Domingsel are congratulated on their touching “God Bless the USA” presentation by Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami, Kaua‘i Veterans Council Commander retired General Mary Kay Hertog, Council Chair Mel Rapozo, Councilman and former mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. during the Kaua‘i Veterans Celebration at the lawn of the Historic County Building on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023. Gen. Hertog reminds everyone that the annual Veterans Day ceremonies take place on Saturday starting at 11 a.m. at the Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.

Brittney Marcos (she had the Cotton Candy booth during the Rice Street Block Party) of Happy Go Lucky Kaua‘i (they wanted her at Hanapepe’s Biggest Little Carnival, too) spins out blue cotton candy at the Kaua‘i Veterans Celebration. Happy Go Lucky Kaua‘i even made it to food truck alley at First Saturday event following the veterans celebration.

Kudos to the Kaua‘i Veterans Council and its community partners on hosting a successful Kaua‘i Veterans Celebration, where Council Chair Mel Rapozo reminded people about the Green Light Project (… wondering if the Kaua‘i Ocean Discovery still has her green light from last year, and it was touching to see the green light amid all the red on the Kaua‘i Fire Department vehicles).
