Hanalei has a brand new food cart. The Yes Dog! food cart, which is located in Ching Young Village, features Hawaiian hot dogs and a lot more. Yes Dog! co-founder Jeff Gordon said the food cart is open daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., or until it sells out. Prices start at $6 for the “Recession Special,” which is a nod to Gray’s Papaya in New York. The special is a basic dog with a choice of ketchup, mustard and relish. The bigger dogs, like the “Chicago” dog, go for $10. Coke and water are also on the menu.

“It’s harmless,” said Noelle Lau of the Wilcox Health Foundation as she reacts to touching the electrostatic globe during the 17th Annual Halloween Keiki Parade at Wilcox Medical Center on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023.

Kudos to all the many hands and souls that contributed to a mess of Halloween-themed activities like the Trunk or Treat at The Shops at Kukui‘ula, the Halloween Festival and Trunk or Treat event at Kukui Grove Center, and more, ending with the Halloween keiki parades at both the Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital and Wilcox Medical Center … wow, that’s more than a handful of Halloween events!
