Tasha Tavares of Kaua‘i Kine Snacks shows off her lineup of freeze-dried products on Friday during the 24-vendor craft fair that was part of Leina‘ala Pavao Jardin’s sold-out hoike at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall. Tavares started her company three years ago during the COVID pandemic, and has grown to be the first company on Kaua‘i to offer the freeze-dried products.

Congratulations, Mia Lynn Ramos of Waimea High School — the “Central Pacific Bank” sign on Hanapepe Stadium looks really good, Coach Jon Kobayashi, and Coach Lois Keamoai! — on being named the 2023 Homecoming Queen who was escorted by her father on Saturday as the high schools wrap up this year’s homecoming circuit … Kaua‘i Christian Academy should field a Miss Fall Festival — another name for homecoming — to reign over its Fall Festival that opens on Friday … the Dinos (short for ‘dinosaurs’ like the T-Rex) will be out on Saturday afternoon at the North Shore campus.
