The Kapa‘a High School cheerleaders “fly” during the basics portion of the group’s presentation on Monday evening, Oct. 9, 2023, during the first-ever Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation cheer preseason before a panel of judges at the Kaua‘i High School gym. Kapa‘a finished first with 79.47 percent, followed by Waimea cheer with 59.78 percent. Host Kaua‘i finished with 53.43 percent. The KIF cheer championships will take place on Oct. 23 at the Kaua‘i High School gym.

Pacific Missile Range Facility at Mana Commanding Officer Capt. The award is a result of sponsorships from Kaua‘i chamber members and ticket sales to the Military Ball that takes place on Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, at Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i Resort and Spa. Registration opens at 5:30 p.m. Stevenson said the award will enable junior sailors to participate in the Military Ball, which is considered a very prestigious event.
