Mahalo, Kaua‘i for contributing to the more than $94,000 raised (mahalo, Sheraton Kaua‘i at Coconut Beach for contributing $50,000!) during the radiothon (kudos to Kukui Grove Center and Sarah Tochiki for the Maui Mele push!) that benefited the Hawai‘i Foodbank for Maui Food Bank and its continuing efforts (Tisha Remigio of the Hawai‘i Foodbank Kaua‘i said Wes Perreira has been going to Maui to help for a couple of days each week) at providing relief for people impacted (did you meet the Maui musician who was displaced by the fire over the weekend?) by the devastating wildfire in Lahaina.

Kudos to Kaua‘i High School and Kukui Grove Center (even David Sosner was cruising the mall on Thursday night) on presenting the school’s Homecoming Parade (Bryden Ka‘auwai was especially pleased to announce the return of the event that started before the COVID-19 shutdown) and Pep Rally (great way for the Red Raider girls volleyball to celebrate its first season win) and support for the school’s air rifle teams that face Waimea High School on Saturday for tie breaking honors.
OK, on to the football games (don’t forget Na Kama Kai Keiki Aloha, Kai Aloha free ocean clinic on Saturday at Kalapaki Beach, too) at Vidinha Stadium where the Junior Varsity contest kicks off at 1:30 p.m.
