LIHU‘E — A number of lane and shoulder closures are scheduled this week on Kaua‘i with the primary emphasis in Wailua, according to a weekly advisory from the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation.
The following is a list of scheduled closures.
Kalaheo
Alternating single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) are possible in either direction between Hokua Road and Koloa Road through Friday, Aug. 4, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for waterline work as part of the Kuli Road and Luaoho Road intersection improvement project.
A lane shift on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in the westbound direction between Pu‘uwai Road and Anuhea Place, Monday, July 31, to Friday, Aug. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There will be intermittent full closures for a maximum of five minutes to remove downed branches from the tree trimming.
Kealia
Two lane closures on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) are possible for paving and striping in either direction in the vicinity of Mailihuna Road and Aliomanu Road through Friday, Aug. 4, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Kilauea
A single lane closure on Kuhio Hwy (Route 56) is possible for grass cutting in either direction in the vicinity of Kapuna Road and Kaluamakua Place on Monday, July 31, to Friday, Aug. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Oma‘o
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible for grass cutting and guardrail clearing in the westbound direction between mile marker 6 and 8, beginning Monday, July 31, through Friday, Aug. 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. To limit traffic, crews will do a lane shift when possible.
Puhi
A lane shift on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible for shoulder excavation and asphalt paving in the westbound direction between mile marker 1.9 and 2.4, in the vicinity of Anonui Street, beginning Monday, July 31, through Friday, Aug. 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. There will be intermittent stops to allow construction traffic to enter and exit the construction site.
Wailua
A right shoulder closure and narrowed lanes of Kuhio Highway (Route 56) are possible in the southbound direction between mile markers 5.7 and 6.7, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Kapa‘a Bypass, for the Kuhio Highway Short-Term Improvements.
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for smoothness grinding and striping work in either direction between mile marker 5.9 and 6.6, in the vicinity of Kuamo‘o Road and Kapa‘a Bypass, Monday, July 31, through Friday, Aug. 4, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
A two-lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for smoothness grinding and striping work in either direction between Kuamo‘o Road and Kapa‘a Bypass through Friday, Aug. 4, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
Wailua Homesteads
A single lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) is possible for grass cutting in either direction between Kuhio Highway (Route 56) and the vicinity of Koali Street from Monday, July 31, to Friday, Aug., 4 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
