KAPA‘A — The county Department of Parks and Recreation announced that the Kapa‘a swimming pool is estimated to be closed until at least August, due to extensive renovation work.
Renovations began in August 2022, including replacing and upgrading the pool filtration, recirculation and chlorination systems, improving gutter edges and drainage systems, new plaster and replacement of deck and lane tile markers. Pacific Concrete Cutting & Coring, Inc. is the contractor.
Further renovations were deemed necessary. When exposed after removing the tiles and plaster, the pool’s original shell was more deteriorated than expected.
