Coppin Colburn, described as the Fire Dancer from Hanalei, goes for a save during his match in the 80s Division on Thursday, the opening day of the 29th annual Hawai‘i Dinosaur Volleyball Tournament at Kalapaki Beach. Colburn won his set, 15-8. The tournament continues through Sunday with play starting at 8 a.m. on each day.

From left, Kauaians Lehuanani Lo, Barbara Green and Anela Pa had the honor of attending the 60th anniversary Royal Coronation Ball that opened the 60th annual Merrie Monarch Festival on Hawai‘i Island. Green won best dressed honors in the Holoku Ball portion of the Coronation Ball, and made it home for the Tuesday night, April 11, 2023, Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation boys volleyball games at Bernice Hundley Gym on the Kapa‘a High campus.

Congratulations, Barbara Green, on earning best dressed honors during the Holoku Ball portion of the 60th Royal Coronation Ball that opened the festivities for the 60th annual Merrie Monarch Festival on Hawai‘i Island. That’s where Kumu Hula Leina‘ala Pavao Jardin and the ladies of Halau Ka Lei Mokihana O Leina‘ala take the stage, starting Thursday night, and can be seen on the live broadcast on KFVE.
