LIHU‘E — The county Agency on Elderly Affairs will hold a workshop, Thriving & Surviving with Cancer, beginning Wednesday, March 1, at the Lihu‘e Civic Center Pi‘ikoi Building, for those diagnosed with cancer, cancer survivors 60 and older and their caregivers.
LIHU‘E — The county Agency on Elderly Affairs will hold a workshop, Thriving & Surviving with Cancer, beginning Wednesday, March 1, at the Lihu‘e Civic Center Pi‘ikoi Building, for those diagnosed with cancer, cancer survivors 60 and older and their caregivers.
Sessions are March 1, 8 and 15 and April 5 and 12 from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
To register for the program, contact Johnny Yago at 808-241-4898 or jyago@kauai.gov at least five business days before the start of the workshop. The workshop is limited to 15 people.
Topics include:
• Techniques to deal with issues such as frustration, fatigue, pain, isolation, poor sleep and living with uncertainty;
• Appropriate exercise for regaining and maintaining flexibility and endurance;
• Making decisions about treatment and complementary therapies;
• Communicating effectively with family, friends and health professionals;
• Nutrition, setting priorities and relationships.

Only 15 people can attend… that is junk… why put in the paper if such a limited number can attend? Why have such a needed class limited to 15 people?
