Bill Bryner, 96, performs with his trombone with the Kaua‘i Community College Orchestra Friday night at the Aloha Friday program at Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e. Bryner, a veteran with a cavalry unit, earlier performed with the Sunset Swing Band at the Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe as part of the Kaua‘i Veterans Council Veterans Day program.

Vietnam veteran Nelson Secretario and his daughter Rachel Secretario enjoy the recently expanded Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe on Friday following the Kaua‘i Veterans Council Veterans Day program.

One of the good things about Veterans Day is the reunion of people who have not seen each other for a long time (very nice to see Pastor Tom Iannucci…miss not having Pietro’s Pizza!). Yes, Jimmy Oyadomari (of the Korean War!), we miss not seeing Domi Alayvilla around, and how sad that the Scouts of America have been relegated to the Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery multi-purpose building.
