Rodolfo ‘Rudy’ Padilla Bercasio
Rodolfo “Rudy” Padilla Bercasio passed away on Aug. 5, 2022, at the age of 62. He was born on Dec. 10, 1959, in Libis Quezon City, Philippines. He worked as ground man maintenance, Princeville Golf, Hyatt Po‘ipu, and Sheraton Kaua‘i.
He was preceded in death by father Cornelio Bercasio.
He is survived by mother Elizabeth Padilla Bercasio, wife Juvie Bercasio, sons Steve (Carla) Bercasio, Jayrald (Elizabeth) Tanicala-Bercasio, Sandy (Jennylyn) Bercasio, daughters Helen (Rolly) Domingo, Julie Bercasio, brothers Joel, Reynaldo, Eric (Maria), Greg (Maya), Jojo (Eva) Bercasio, grandchildren Bethany, John Kirby, Ellieana, Arianna, Jayelle, AkeenaBrie and Brielle.
A celebration of life is at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary on Friday, Sept. 2, with visitation at 5:30 p.m. followed by service at 7 p.m.

Eleanor Maria Pontes
Eleanor Maria Pontes passed away on Aug. 7, 2022, in Kalaheo at the age of 84. She was born on Nov. 8, 1937, in Lihu‘e. She was a housewife.
She was preceded in death by husband Louis Pontes, Jr., son Roy Pontes, parents David Koerte, Sr., Concepcion Medina, brother David Koerte, Jr., sister Janet Koerte and son-in-law John Silva, Sr.
She is survived by son Louis Pontes III (Michi) of Kalaheo, daughters Diana Silva of Lawa‘i, Linda (Kevin) Kelekoma of Kalaheo, Brenda (John) Gebauer of Lihu‘e, Sharlene (Paul) Barba of Kekaha, Lisa Pontes of Koloa, Karen (Kimo) Akita of Kalaheo, 23 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and sister Rose Castillo of El Paso, Texas.
A service is on Aug. 27, at St. Raphael’s Church in Koloa, with viewing from 9 to 10 a.m. followed by Mass at 10 a.m. The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Adam Huskey
Adam Huskey passed away on July 25, 2022, in Clearlake, California, at the age of 32.
He is survived by mother Leslie Ferrell, brothers Keith (Jeanne) Grebner and Earl (Kira) Huskey. He lives on in the hearts of his niece Mackenzie Grebner and his nephews Nathan Grebner and Jax Furugen-Huskey.
In the business of entertaining people with his unique sense of humor and gentle heart, he had countless friends and will be missed by many.
Frances Carvalho Rego
Frances Carvalho Rego, of Hanama‘ulu, passed away peacefully on Aug. 17, 2022, at Garden Island Healthcare, at the age of 94. She was born on Jan. 4, 1928, in Hanama‘ulu.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Robert “Bobby” Rego, daughter Caroline Rego, parents Antone and Mary Carvalho, brother Lawrence Carvalho, nephew Eric Carvalho, son-in-law Stanywick Yadao and granddaughter (extended family) Helena Oyamot.
She is survived by daughter Marie Yadao, son Lawrence (Barbara) Rego, 15 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Rose Carvalho, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 27, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing at 9 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, leis are acceptable.
The family requests casual attire and face masks recommended.

Genevieve ‘Aunty Genny’ Carmelita Moura
Genevieve “Aunty Genny” Carmelita Moura, 85, of Oma‘o, passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, on May 17, 2022. She was born on Aug. 24, 1936, in Kaimuki, O‘ahu. She retired as an LPN.
She was preceded in death by her former husband Charles Howard Moura, daughter Cimmeron Louise Moura, parents Santos Domingo Troche, Lucy Ramos Troche and sister Lucy T. Metiz.
She is survived by children Rose Marie (Benjamin) Jimenez, Charles Moura, James Moura, Cimmeron Carmelita Jones, Howard (Gigi Quinn) Moura, 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, brother Domingo Santos Troche Jr., numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life is Saturday, Aug. 27, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo. Visitation starts at 9 a.m., Mass is at 10 a.m. and burial to follow at Holy Cross Church.
There will be a reception at Hanapepe Pavilion by the tennis courts after the burial.
Masks are required at Holy Cross Church.
