A free online forum Wednesday at 6 p.m. will discuss alternatives in the forum, “How Can We Keep Our Beaches Resilient During the Climate Crisis?
Speaker Stefanie Sekich-Quinn is the coastal preservation manager for Surfrider Foundation in California. She works on coastal policy, is aware of the impact of sea-level rise throughout Hawai‘i, and is considered an expect on the topic.
She will share how policies can help keep beaches resilient, with perspectives on what works and doesn’t work.
A forum organizer, Cynthia Welti of Surfrider Kaua‘i, says, “thanks to us all being comfortable with meeting online these days, we are able to hear from Stefanie, who is Surfrider headquarters’ coastal expert, how our beach policies and efforts compare to those of other states.”
