Briget Collins, Madhave Collins-Doijode, Kenneth Carvalho, Zoe Carvalho, Lisa Ubay, Pamela Muana, Frances Virgina Muana, and Owen Muana celebrate the Kiwanis Club of Kaua‘i scholarships at the Puakea Grill, Tuesday evening.

This was the week to meet up with the credit unions (yes, I know, Myrvie Buster of Garden Island Federal Credit Union - it’s Rockstar time with Back to School Bash even if school doesn’t let out for another two weeks!) who almost all presented scholarships to deserving graduating high school seniors. Our perennial Miss Kaua‘i Filipina Tiffany Sagucio works for the GIFCU (any interested contestants can see Nancy Apalla — they were putting up signs at Rose’s Pinoy Favorites — or any of the Kaua‘i Filipino Community Council leaders to get signed up for the pageant coming up in June).
