WAIMEA — The county Department of Public Works announced that Menehune Road near the swinging bridge will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday, April 20 and April 21, from 7:30 am. to 5 p.m., for installation of a permanent tower on the bridge and other work, weather permitting.
WAIMEA — The county Department of Public Works announced that Menehune Road near the swinging bridge will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday, April 20 and April 21, from 7:30 am. to 5 p.m., for installation of a permanent tower on the bridge and other work, weather permitting.
The bridge will also be closed to pedestrian access on those dates.
The state Department of Land and Natural Resources’ alternate emergency access route from Waimea Canyon Drive, known as Panini Road, is open to residents and first responders via 4×4 usage only.
Dates and times are subject to change depending on weather and other factors.
