PRINCEVILLE — Spencer Summerhays of Island School fired a four-over 76 Saturday to lead the Voyager men golf team to a total 337 during the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation golf match contested at the Princeville Makai Golf Course.
Coach Steven Murphy of Kaua‘i High School described conditions as “windy and tough,” creating situations that kept scores high. Kaua‘i High School boys, led by Henry Anderson firing an 86, finished 42 strokes back of the Voyagers at 379.
Waimea High School boys saw Ty Tsukayama fire a 94 to lead the Menehune team to 429.
Kaua‘i High School had the sole girls team scoring at 418 after being led by Haley Arakaki’s 96.
Kapa‘a High’s top girls individualist belonged to Serena Bryan, who carded a 105, and the sole Voyager wahine tackling the Princeville Makai was Bailey Ponce, who ended with a 108, chasing three strokes behind Bryan.
