LIHU‘E — The Rookies captured wins of 15-5 against Imi‘Ola and a rescheduled 15-9 over the Aloha Kia A’s Saturday to remain the Kaua‘i Senior Softball League’s sole undefeated squad during the ninth week of play at both the Kaumakani and Hanama‘ulu fields.
The dual victories move the Rookies to 8-0.
Close on the heels of the Rookies, the Keonimana Gents, winning 10-7 over Barteks, follow with a 7-1 record. The Barteks drop to 7-2, a tie with Solid Steel, an 11-7 winner over the Kaua‘i Sons.
Kaua‘i Senior Softball League play continues Saturday with games scheduled for the Mayor Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex in Kapa‘a, and the Pat Baniaga Field at the Hanapepe Stadium complex. First pitches go off at 9 a.m. at both sites.
