Imi‘Ola, Bushwackas pick up second wins
LIHU‘E — Imi‘Ola bats were productive Saturday when the blue-and-white shirts shut down Kuku’s Aces, 20-0, during the Kaua‘i Senior Softball games contested at Mayor Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex in Kapa‘a.
Imi‘Ola’s shutout win was joined by the Bushwackas squeezing out a 12-6 win over the Hanama‘ulu Hillsiders at the Pat Baniaga Field in Hanapepe. This gives the newest teams in the league their second consecutive wins in the season that started with the Jan. 8 games.
The Kaua‘i Sons, the third of the league’s new teams, posted a 19-4 win over West Kaua‘i Saturday, but not before falling to the Bushwackas 22-15 during the opening games.
Games this Saturday will see Imi‘Ola matching up against Solid Steel at Puhi Park starting at 9 a.m. With a game in-between to rest, Imi‘Ola closes out the Puhi Park action against the East Kaua‘i Legends starting at 11:30 a.m.
The league’s defending champion Rookies had their contest rescheduled Saturday. They are scheduled for a double-header against the Keonimana Gents at Wailua Houselots Park. First pitch is at 9 a.m.
