Molly’s math is wrong. $1million to each American is 300 Trillion dollars, not 300 Billion dollars.
If Iseri actually cares about our community, as she claims to, she would bow out now; and save us the cost of holding a general election. Like won overwhelmingly. Iseri’s campaign people should convince her.
YES, A resounding Yes to all the suggestions in the letters!!!
Kauai has akamai residents and even some visitors have a little intelligence.
Yes, agree, schools should form skateboard teams and compete, just as they do with surfing. Seems like a natural fit for Kauai. Any organized school sports contribute to the welfare of kids, provide direction, and help focus them away from less acceptable activities. Also, why not have dirt bike trail riding teams as well? It’s a popular sport here on Kauai, and if liability issues can be overcome with surf teams, football teams, and other contact sports, why not moto related sports? Let’s give the kids outlets that really interest them. Not all kids are into the traditional sports.
I wholeheartedly agree with Mr Perry. Wasteful. Just the paper!!!
WIth ya Cole Diamond– that’s a great idea.
Hey Mark Perry… I totally agree a waste of money…Chances are you can thank your fellow voters for the charter amendment they voted for, it’s why the procedure took place. Everyone better read what you are voting on before complaining about what will take place when voting. Typical Kauai!
Molly Jones…. There is approx: 331million citizens in the United States so giving each one a million dollars would equal
331 trillion dollars not million dollars.
The letter on 12/20/2021 by Molly Jones says “Give citizens $1 million each”, and incorrectly states “That equals about $300 billion”. That’s bad math. $1 million times 300 million = $300 trillion, not $300 billion.
Sorry Molly it’s early … if you gave every citizen a million dollars it would be $331 trillion dollars not billion dollars that the government gave away. ,
Please People… contact your legislatures to limit Federal spending… I too am concerned about future national debt and its impact on our countries stability. We also need to investigate why the costs of medications are so very expensive- and our Federal Medicare monies are paying extremely high costs.. Toe nail fungus medication for 30 days cost – 1,500.00 and Medicare paid for it…. also cancer treatment medications cost about 35,000.00 a month….. Medicare is paying for this too… how long will Medicare be able to pay these “criminal” costs of medications. Are our legislators enabling this criminal costs of medications?
The real problem with Federal spending is that we spend more than we take in in taxes. One big reason is the gift Trump and the Republicans gave to billionaires and corporations that greatly reduced their payment of their share of taxes. The first step towards re-gaining a balanced budget is to repeal that partisan and unpopular law.
